Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal

The 36th Sikh Regiment had only 21 men against an estimated a-sara-a10,000 Pathans. The Battle of Saragarhi, September 12th 1897, is noted as one of the top battles in history. The Sikh’s, to which I am related and my name pertains, bravely fought against all odds until the last man stood and said “Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal” a now classic Sikh battle cry and religious expression. Warriors of note and brave unlike any other in the face of adversity, they displayed unflinching courage once they got an idea between their teeth. They never backed down even in the face of impossible odds. Today marks the anniversary which is extremely fitting for me; it provides much inspiration and heart in the difficult days that have passed recently and lie ahead, here me now…
